Introduction:
Guardians of Dreams, an organization committed to improving the lives of children in need, is undertaking a transformative mission in India. With over 26 million orphans and a limited number of childcare institutions, the quality of care and social infrastructure available to these vulnerable children remains deeply inadequate. Recognizing the pressing need for improvement, Guardians of Dreams embarked on a mission to enhance the capabilities of childcare institutions across India, ultimately elevating the standard of care provided.
Purpose:
Led by Gloria Benny and Sujith Varkey, the organization aims to usher in a new era of childcare by launching the Capacity Accelerator Programme (CAP). This program is designed to empower childcare institutions, enabling them to deliver the highest standard of care to vulnerable children.
Project Highlights:
Comprehensive Research and Design: Phase 1 of the CAP involved rigorous research and collaboration with subject matter experts to design a program that would bring about transformative change in childcare institutions.
Institution Selection: In Phase 2, childcare institutions were meticulously shortlisted to participate in the test phase of the program. The selection process ensured that institutions with the greatest potential for positive impact were chosen.
Implementation and Scaling: Phase 3 represents the heart of the program, where the standard operating procedures and best practices identified in Phases 1 and 2 are implemented and scaled across five chosen childcare institutions. This phase aims to establish a gold standard in childcare, setting a benchmark for quality care provision.

By enhancing the capabilities of childcare institutions and improving the quality of care provided to vulnerable children, the project aligns with the foundation’s commitment to bettering the lives of children in need of care and protection. The ultimate goal is to create a more nurturing and supportive environment for these children, ensuring that they have access to the care, love, and opportunities they deserve. Through this partnership, the foundation and Guardians of Dreams are working together to pave the way for a brighter future for India’s most vulnerable youth.
